Edouard is Head Sommelier at 2 Michelin-Star Gidleigh Park since September 2008. His passion for food and gastronomy started in his native Loire Valley, leading him to work as a sommelier in Brittany at Domaine de la Breteche and in sunny Cote d’Azur at 2 Michelin-Star Hostellerie Jerome. From there he went to a world tour of vineyards and finally arrive in Ireland as sommelier at famous Hayfield Manor Hotel. He later moved to Henley on Thames to take on the position of Chef Sommelier at Hotel du Vin. During this time he gained his Advance Master Sommelier and been voted “2008 Best Sommelier” by his peers. His passion for organic and biodynamic wines is known by many and it was no surprise he has tasted the fabulous range of Larmandier-Bernier.
